Hypnosis is a mental state included with a ritual or process known as hypnotic induction. This is usually done by a hypnotist in the presence or a subject or it may be inflicted to oneself. Hypnotherapy is a very common use for hypnosis wherein it is done for medical purposes. Hypnosis was discovered during the 1800’s coined by a Scottish surgeon named James Braid. Wherein he began to hear reports about meditative practices and educated the public about the presence of this practice. There are 3 major types of hypnosis: Traditional, Ericksonian, and Neuro-lingguitstic Programming. Traditional hypnosis is the easiest type. Ericksonian is the most modern type of hypnosis. The Neuro-linguistic form is the most effective because it is performed with treatment. You may have been faced with situations wherein you needed the power of persuasion. Self-hypnosis is a form of hypnosis that is self-induced.



Self-hypnosis is when you hypnotize yourself this could also be by means of meditation. This is more on managing stress and clearing your mind in facing new challenges that may come along your way. This could help you relax both your body, mind and clear out unpleasant thoughts. This is by inducing your mind with affirmations or positive statements based on rational thinking to counter out stress and unpleasant thoughts. First, you must decide if you really want to make affirmation as part of your routine. If you do, prepare affirmations that you might want to use, then next is a find place somewhere comfortable and peaceful. Now, relax your body. This could be done through emptying your mind and think relaxing thoughts like a clam breeze or soft waves. Deepen your relaxation state, you can do this by telling yourself, "I am feeling relaxed and comfortable and with every breath I am becoming more and more relaxed". Alternate this by saying, "I am feeling tired and sleepy." Now you can use the affirmations you’ve prepared while alternating them with relaxation statements. A typical session could last you for about 25-30 minutes, or for as long as you want.



You could also listen to self-hypnosis CD’s. This could make you relax more when you’re too tired to do hypnosis yourself. These are some tips for you to be able to relax and to flash away stress and negative energy from your body. The environment is very important; there must be no distractions and complete silence for where you want to do a session. It is also very important that you relax and empty your mind.
